Loved it. This had everything I enjoyed about Harper's writing in Driftwood, but was somehow more accessible. The writing flowed smoother as I didn't keep getting distracted by the beautiful prose.

Wow, I decided to re-listen an audiobook edition, it was great. Maybe I found pace of the plot a bit slow, this time around, nonetheless, it was a pleasure to enjoy it again. Great work

This was the first book I've read from Harper Fox and I do feel lucky to find an author with an ability to write such a touching story with such wisdom. I felt that the description of the land, the weather, the farm and the people in it couldn't have been written more beautifully.
I was totally charmed from the very first page. It happened exactly when Nichol was carrying the lamb through the rain and when the gust made the lamb's sour milk smelling and muddy ears flap into his face. :) And at ti ...more
