Don’t Let Me Go is an emotionally charged book that encompasses the joy and perils of young love between homosexual teens. I’ve a lot of difficulty reading this book because it felt too heavy – yeah, it’s just hitting closer to home I guess. More than half of the story was in flashbacks and I usually find that annoying but in this book, I’ve this intense feeling of wanting to know more about Adam and Nate.

表紙に惹かれて読んでみましたが、ちょっと期待するところと違ったかも。もう少し上の年代の話が中心になるかと思ったのですが、メインは中～高時代の話。青すぎる、という印象。いろんなテーマを詰め込もうとしたせいか、随所に物足りなさも感じてしまった。例えば、主人公の彼は、田舎からＮＹへ出ていくのですが、ＮＹでサバイバルって相当なもんでしょ？だけどパーティで騒いでること以外、実際にどんな舞台で活躍できたのか、どんな練習してるの？、そもそもどうして仕事にありつけたのか、といったことがまったく書かれておらず、二人の関係を試すために、簡単なところでＮＹを使った、という感じがしてしまいました。
本の最後には、ディスカッション用の質問がついていたりして、それはそれで面白いのですが、若い読者だけが対象ですね。

I really enjoyed this one and I agree with my fellow reviewers that this one will stay with me for awhile. Oooh, to be that young again.
A highly recommend read.
