So many people compared this to Jane Seville's Zero at the Bone ... since both books have plot about two people find love when on the run. Miller is an FBI agent. Danny is mid-level drug runner. Miller needs to protect Danny since he is essential in breaking the case. And in the process, Miller finds himself questioning who he is, as he feels attracted to Danny.

wow. just wow. Well-crafted, tightly written. Gripping. Detailed. I was emotionally wrapped up in this book from start to finish. It was fascinating to watch these characters slowly unfold from the messes they'd made of their lives. McKinley wove scenes from the past into the present to make a rich tapestry of a story. Finally a gay romance worth reading. The characters are interesting and well-rounded and the buildup to their relationship is slow and convincing, as are the problems they have. Issues don't get conveniently solved and while it does have a happy ending the characters have to work to earn it. Good book, worth your time. ...more
