What Members Thought

I very much enjoyed this book.
I could feel for both of the MC feeling their self worth diminish because of each of them losing what they thought was the most important and defining thing in their life.
I did feel the musing could have been a bit less, but it didn't deminish my enjoyment.
I especially liked Laurie's mother, not how she behaved, but she is real, she loves him and makes mistakes, but tries to right them, and she loves him.
The one part I could have done without was (view spoiler) ...more

3.5 stars.
Heidi Cullinan’s Dance With Me takes an unusual turn by making one of the protagonists an ex-ballet dancer. Pair him with an ex-semi pro football player and it is one of the more unique pairings I have read in a long time.
The football player, Ed and the dancer, Laurie initially do not like one another. Frequent clashes however, soon turn to attraction and that attraction leads to a romance. What I liked most about their relationship was that it seemed realistic. There were a few bumps ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. After reading my first book by the author called "Nowhere Ranch" I was convinced that this would be as good as said book.
What I really loved about Heidi’s writing style is that she’s never boring. She’s got this ability to write a full chapter with mere narration and no dialogues at all and it’ll be interesting. And being a THE Britney Spears stan myself – this already earn some good points for me. I was so giddy whenever Ed go in the zone with Britney!!! ...more

This story is not exactly about dancing. To me it's more like a story about 2 men who trying to make a peace with their unexpected circumstances in their life . Ed, trying to make a peace with his injured body, while Laurie trying to make a peace with his past as a famous dancer. They met, arguing, dancing and then falling in love.
The story flowing naturally as well as the romance relationship built between Ed and Laurie. Though I was expecting more UST here but I quite enjoyed their romance. And ...more

Dance With Me has always been a favorite of mind from the wonderful catalog of stories by Heidi Cullinan. Ed and Laurie, with their almost visible sparks clashing between them, are grounded in a life that feels completely real. Their story isn’t a march towards some grand climax, but instead layers of real life hardship over real life achievements and growth. This journey of discovering where their lives will take them is as sweet as it is painful-–literally, in some cases, for Ed.
