Casper spent 11 months in county jail after being charged of murdering his boss. He is now exonerated after his own sister committed suicide after (view spoiler) confessed about the murder. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this charming novella in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, there is a ton packed into this novella. And honestly, if it were longer I would just keep reading because I loved these characters. Poor Caz. My eyes were tearing up right from the beginning, when he was looking for his lost dog. He went through so much and for Rally to be intrinsically connected? They had a great many things to overcome.

Highly interesting premise, dealing with the breaking of trust and regaining faith in a person.

I've noticed the last few books I've read by this author that she's change her mystery romances into cofy cozy mysteries. I don't mind those occasionally, but I do like my mysteries to have a bit of spice/steam to the them. Also like to see the romance between the 2 mc's develop. This is why i'm giving this one a 4 star. It had some of elements I like, but not all.
Good plot, keep my interest up, but a little disappointed.

This story was full of emotions, the strongest were sadness, regret and love in difficult situation. At least the two main characters Casper and Raleigh found the streigh to forgive eachother and to move forward. The criminal aspect in this story was pulling and enjoyable.
