I've always wanted to call someone a liar, a cheat, and a whore, all in the same sentence.

This might just be the fluffiest, sweetest Lanyon book I've ever read.

An interesting and traditional festive tale with quirky characters and an intriguing story concept. It's a novella rather than a novel, and the Kindle edition ends at 85%, with an excerpt from another book after it, which normally has me thinking about knocking a star off the rating. However, any writer that can create the depth of characterisation evident within a story of this length deserves the full five stars. The connection between the two main characters is tangible. I loved this little book.

There was a bit of insta-love, which I am not all that fond of, but that's kinda hard to avoid in short works. And Josh Lanyon made it believable to me.
The characters were well done, and I felt the chemistry between them. (And the ocelot as a catalyst was well done).

This was such a lovely, warm and sweet read. (I have to admit. I am crushed that The Christmas Cake does not exist. sigh.)
