An interesting and traditional festive tale with quirky characters and an intriguing story concept. It's a novella rather than a novel, and the Kindle edition ends at 85%, with an excerpt from another book after it, which normally has me thinking about knocking a star off the rating. However, any writer that can create the depth of characterisation evident within a story of this length deserves the full five stars. The connection between the two main characters is tangible. Recommended.

I loved this little book.
There was a bit of insta-love, which I am not all that fond of, but that's kinda hard to avoid in short works. And Josh Lanyon made it believable to me.
The characters were well done, and I felt the chemistry between them. (And the ocelot as a catalyst was well done).
This was such a lovely, warm and sweet read. (I have to admit. I am crushed that The Christmas Cake does not exist. sigh.) ...more
