I keep repeating myself when reviewing works by Josh Lanyon: beautiful; emotional; heart felt; so many more. This is a beautiful little Christmas story. Can two people find love and acceptance after ten years have passed? My heart raced when Robert murmured into Noel's ear "If you think the earth moved just now, imagine what'll happen when I fuck you." The characters, as usual in a Lanyon story, are so beautiful drawn with so many layers that they stay with the reader after the words are ended.

A short story for Christmas; that has to be a wee bit kitschy and o so romantic. Well, Lanyon dishes out a nice little Christmas story that remains just a bit too much on the surface of emotions.
After Noel had a one-night-stand with Robert, things could have been perfect if their professional choices would op against it because Noel is a jewel thief and Robert a FBI-agent. Ten years ago, Noel, a cat burglar, and Robert, the FBI agent tasked with bring him in, spend one hot night together before Noel pulls a disappearing act.
Now many years out of the game and writing novels based on his adventures, Noel is surprised to find his former foe on his door step on Christmas eve.
I enjoyed the banter between the two guys and the unforeseen situations that came up along the way kept things interesting. The ending seemed a bit abrupt though; I would like to read more abo ...more

By far my favourite story in the His for the holiday anthology.
I would loved this to have been a full length novel, with the glorious build up and slow burn of a cat and mouse chase but as it was I felt I knew the characters well enough by the end to let me write my own pre-prologue story in my head. A really satisfying read for to few pages.

Not quite 5 stars because I felt that the change in the relationship was a little abrupt. It was slow burn for 5.5 chapters and then all of a sudden they are in bed together. But overall I really liked this couple. I also read Lanyon's Coda for Noel and Robert on his blog.
