It’s strange since Carina Press is actually a romance publisher, but I think Fair Game is the less “romance” among the novels by Josh Lanyon I read; now, there is a love story in it, but really, the lion share in the plot is to the mystery/thriller. Elliot Mills, former FBI agent and currently a college professor, is investigating on the disappearance of a student, who happens to be a family friends’s son. That former lover Tucker Lance is the FBI agent in charge of the investigation it’s not a

So. Good. I'm a full-on converted Josh Lanyon fanfirl. It's official. This book was great. Super slow relationship build, but man, when they make it work? *happy sighs*
There was a mystery. It was well done. I don't always love the mystery aspects, and I guess the endings too often. I had many suspects til the end. It was fun and also tragically sad.

I read this book a while ago and when I discovered audiobooks, I added it to my list. I finished listening to the audio version on September 01, 2015.
I think I enjoyed it even more in audio than I did when I read it the first time. The narrator, Sawyer Allerde, does a wonderful job of portraying the characters and I enjoyed the voices he gave them.
The characters are intriguing and the story is filled with mystery and suspense. The romance between the main characters flowed perfectly and I foun ...more

Damn, late for work again!
This book was a slow build all around. Before I knew it I was halfway through and while all the pieces were there the big action had started. Then it starts quick and suddenly the book is over. Not a lot of dwelling on things. And as always I just don't understand crazy people, so I don't quite know why the bad guy did it except that he didn't believe he was in the wrong. The personal relationship is also a good one. And at the end of the day, as much as I liked them, I ...more

Lanyon's books are tightly plotted, subtle, elegant, and deeper than they seem at first glance. Sensitive portrayal of man's investigation of a crime, and his off/on relationship with an FBI agent.
