It’s strange since Carina Press is actually a romance publisher, but I think Fair Game is the less “romance” among the novels by Josh Lanyon I read; now, there is a love story in it, but really, the lion share in the plot is to the mystery/thriller. Elliot Mills, former FBI agent and currently a college professor, is investigating on the disappearance of a student, who happens to be a family friends’s son. That former lover Tucker Lance is the FBI agent in charge of the investigation it’s not a ...more

re-read.....why? for some reason i forgot i read this.. now that may sound insulting, but i do read a lot and over the years, (and with age :P) you tend to forget some of the books....

however, as soon as i started.... the light bulb went off and i said Yes! this is the story about the missing college students and whacky neighbor and father, as well some intense male and male lovin!

i kept reading till i finished and very happy that i did. in the end it's a positive thing to read a book 2 times b

Solid mystery/suspense plot and Lanyon's usual engaging MC's. Audiobook narration (Ray Ramano) enhanced the experience, bringing out the gruff humor in stoic Tucker's dialogue. Descriptions of place, from classrooms to scenic vistas, were atmospheric, pulling the reader/listener into the settings.

The development of the romance was the novel's real strength. We know from the outset that their previous relationship ended badly and both men are resentful and hurt. The characters demonstrate their

Damn, late for work again!

This book was a slow build all around. Before I knew it I was halfway through and while all the pieces were there the big action had started. Then it starts quick and suddenly the book is over. Not a lot of dwelling on things. And as always I just don't understand crazy people, so I don't quite know why the bad guy did it except that he didn't believe he was in the wrong. The personal relationship is also a good one. And at the end of the day, as much as I liked them, I

There were a few editing mistakes, but otherwise it was a tightly woven story that left me guessing - and wanting to pull my hair out over the stubbornness of the two main characters. :)

A great mystery/suspense book with some light romance thrown in. I will be getting the second one in the series!

I enjoyed everything about this story. The mystery, the amount of potential suspects, Elliot and Tucker as individuals, and as a couple. Another great Josh Lanyon mystery.
