It’s strange since Carina Press is actually a romance publisher, but I think Fair Game is the less “romance” among the novels by Josh Lanyon I read; now, there is a love story in it, but really, the lion share in the plot is to the mystery/thriller. Elliot Mills, former FBI agent and currently a college professor, is investigating on the disappearance of a student, who happens to be a family friends’s son. Damn, late for work again!
This book was a slow build all around. Before I knew it I was halfway through and while all the pieces were there the big action had started. Then it starts quick and suddenly the book is over. Not a lot of dwelling on things. And as always I just don't understand crazy people, so I don't quite know why the bad guy did it except that he didn't believe he was in the wrong. The personal relationship is also a good one. And at the end of the day, as much as I liked them, I ...more
