What Members Thought

I have a confession to make:
I like Elliot and Tucker more than Jake and Adrien. Or at least more than I liked Jake and Adrien at the end of book 1 of the Adrien English series.

Now now, no need to grab the pitchforks. I did end up really liking the Adrien English series eventually, though it took me a while to buy Jake and Adrien as a couple. But I couldn't help but compare the two couples, because I just recently finished the Adrien English series.

Re-read #2283742 Dec 16, 2016:
Fuck, how did I give any of the books in this series a 4? I'm a monster. A fucking MONSTER!
Tucker? MHMMMM.
Elliot? MMHMMMMM.
God, it's all good. I love it. No stupid choices, no pointless drama... just good old fashion romance and mystery. This book so gooooood.

I read this having read the Holmes and Moriarity books (1 and 2), and this is very different - third person narrative, serious, much darker, with some very tender moments. A great story. I'm getting the Josh Lanyon plot gist now, but it still plays out well, with plenty of twists and surprises.

A strong 3 1/2 stars.
I liked this book...it just didn't get under my skin the way the Adrien English series did.
Tucker and Elliot were good characters, but they weren't Jake and Adrien. Maybe I shouldn't be comparing the 2 stories, but it's hard not to make comparisons.
I enjoyed the plot. I found that the mystery was written well and I wasn't sure who really "did it" till about 75% through.
Elliot was a good, likeable character... I just would have liked to know more about Tucker.

Great writing, interesting mystery... I didn't connect with these two as a couple (liked Elliot much more than Tucker) as much as some of Lanyon's other pairings, but I really enjoyed the story. Even more the second time round. I can't get enough of Josh Lanyon's writing. More please... ...more
