I liked this, but I didn't love it. I love animals but that many in one small cabin is just overwhelming to me, especially given their sizes. I do love that the cat goes on walks though.

I think the fact that the first thing I talked about was the animals and not the MCs kind of says a lot about my reaction to the story. Things moved pretty slowly which makes sense for someone with the level of anxiety that Simon lives with, but then they were going to live together in like

I appreciated Simon’s severe social anxiety and that Jack didn’t come along and fix it. Though I was surprised that the guy known for Googling things he doesn’t know (Jack) didn’t Google anxiety to better understand Simon right away.

I loved the humor, when it pops up. I also loved Simon’s feisty grandma and Jack’s caring brother.

A soft story involving a gruff guy with a soft spot for animals and a guy with anxiety, also with a soft spot for animals. Many cats and dogs.
