I liked this better than the first book in the series, Fatal Shadows. The mystery was better, there was more action, and things have finally started picking up between Adrien and Jake. Adrien did it again. He took off to think things through and get some writing done at the secluded ranch he owned and almost drove right over a dead body in the drive.
Thus begins another rounds of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Adrien ends up solving a couple murders and saving Jake's life.

I loved Jake in this book - every time he said "Baby" it seemed like such an unconscious statement. His slight shock at discovering that he liked kissing Adrien made me chuckle. The mystery was pretty good with a little history through in which is always a good thing in my opinion. This is a really great series!
