The Lady in the Lake is a superbly written and developed mystery with a story within a story. Or to be precise, some case from the past collides with Philip Marlowe present new job. This was even better than the previous three novels! However, it was also very complicated and there were a lot of new developments at the very end that I didn't see coming. Maybe that's just me. But i twas still very enjoyable. ...more
