I love cosy mysteries and enjoyed the first of this series but don't see the appeal of this.
The mystery was uninteresting, there was no detecting other than wow a spoon is found which solved it all, um I was too busy not caring what type of spoon it was for it have pertinence. Obviously other readers are secretly spoon collectors so jumped to solving everything, there's no term for spoon-collectors btb, for that I did google!

There were echos of other Lanyons to parts of this, at least for me. Ce

Another great edition to this series...and with the best ending yet! Fans of Josh Lanyon and/or this series won't be disappointed. I'm grateful that #2020 didn't derail this author too much. Reading her stories are always a pleasurable way to spend an evening. ...more

Of the three books so far, I think I liked this one best. It kept me drawn and interested through out. The pacing was quite brisk and not a lot of fillers.

Things sort of went back to normal for Ellery after the event of the second book. Life goes on, Ellery dial back the relationship between him and Jack, per Jack's requested. But it was difficult. Because Ellery still very much attracted to Jack. It didn't help that he sometimes sent mix signal as well.

When the first *trouble* begins, my intern

I liked this book way better than book two! 😬

My favorite character continues to be Watson. I love Ellery’s conversations with him and Watson’s imagined replies. 😂

This mystery is light but still interesting. I like that in this gossipy little town everyone has secrets and they’re all connected so the killer could really be any one of them. I do hope Ellery stops being stupid while solving these mysteries. In book one he made the point of not being the typical amateur sleuth plunging into dangerou

Wow... can I have the rest of this series already please?! This series is extremely fun, relaxing, and mysterious. I also love the hints at romance between Ellery and Chief Carson. They’re going to be, are in fact, a great couple. The mysteries are gripping and engaging. I also like the other characters, they help make Pirate’s Cove a vibrant community.

Seriously, I savored this one and I’m going to miss these characters until the next book comes out.

I've read this book before but never reviewed it for some reason. I am still enjoying this series though the momentum has slowed a little for me. However, the last third of this book is Josh Lanyon at their absolute best ... funny, romantic and so utterly charming. Completely made up for the earlier slow patch. Continuing to love Jack and Ellery ... and the delightful seaside town of Pirates Cove. A truly lovely comfort read ... and I am looking forward to continuing with this series. ...more

I'd like to live on an island and own a bookstore. I could do without the murders but reading about them is fun. A sexy cop doesn't hurt either. ...more
