I really enjoyed this short murder mystery. It doesn't have a complex plot because the reader knows whodunnit, but not how or why. There is also a frisson of tension because we don't know what the murderer will do next.
All of this is interwoven with a very emotional love story and the struggles of learning to live with disability. The characters are lovely. The emotions flow from the page. All these different aspects come together like a really good meal and I was left feeling completely satisf ...more

Classic Lanyon. I really enjoyed this. Felt like coming home, you know? It's hard to describe, but probably has to do with the fact that my reading has been so terrible this year and I've only recently found some books I'm enjoying, but I can always enjoy one of Josh's books. The mystery is fun though very short, and the romance was a sweet second chance that worked really well. This would not make for a good novel, but it was a perfect feel-good short story for sure. :-)

Short, surprisingly satisfying mystery/second-chance romance. I really enjoyed the representation of seeing an MC in a wheelchair and the connection here was quite lovely. Well paced, and though I would have appreciated a bit more steam, I also know it wouldn't have felt natural in the story given the length/gentle reconciliation tone.
