Thoughts after reread 02.05.2023
Poor Will. He just can't seem to help himself. He keeps trusting Kim, while the other man is up to no good. It's so clear from the start. I mean it was to be expected that Kim would do something shady again and Will would be once again blindsided.
Will's memories of WWI are of course horrifying and we haven't learned a thing in the last century.
Phobe and Maisy are refreshing female sidekicks. Not too annoying, but then I do wonder a bit about how modern their tho ...more

K.J. Charles gets me every time. Her books are just so we'll written, that you just hold on tight for the ride.
Darling was utterly wonderful and Kim a lovely "bad" guy. And that is the thing... Charles' characters are quite multifaceted and evolved. When they are best, they are not just good or bad, but human with warts and all.
Can't wait for the next Darling Adventures. ...more
