What Members Thought

Debra ~~ seriously slacking on her reviews ~~
I waited way too long to review, but I enjoyed both the mystery and the relationship development and will be moving onto the next book.

I was quite intrigued with this book when it was first released in February, but I had so many other TBR books that it got lost from my attention. Then this week, my Twitter timeline announced that it was on sale for 99c. I thought, what the heck, lemme give this a try.

And I LOVED it!!

First of all, THANK the author for SLOW BURN ROMANCE (Yippee!!). Despite this having a werewolf as a love interest, but Cooper -- the human detective -- didn't immediately fall into lust with his newly acquired par

Re-read 11/10/19 - Listened to the audio book this time and it was even better the second time around.

I enjoyed this but it took me a little while to get into it. It's told from BSI Agent Cooper Dayton's perspective and damn is he prickly and not a comfortable POV to be in. He has some serious blind spots where werewolves are concerned (understandably), but I felt like he really grew and learned a lot (and let go of a lot of his prejudices) by the end of the book. I wanted to know more about Par

Update 5/7/22: Previously a DNF @43%, revisited 4 years later because this series keeps coming through my timeline with positive reviews. I didn’t have the same problem with the pacing in the second half, but nothing grabbed me enough to continue the series any further.

DNF @43%. Bored. Needs better pacing. We're in Cooper’s head too much and Park is mostly just facial expressions so far - or lack of them. The guy keeps things to himself, which is not great for half of our eventual couple. Not en

It did not take me two years to read this. I’m just really bad at actually marking books as read when I’m not sure what to say about them or want to blow onto reading the next book in the series.

Loving this debut MM paranormal romantic suspense. Even told from single POV the tale gripped me from start to end. I cheer for Cooper with all his awkwardness and Oliver with his slightly mysterious persona (I’ll bet were there a POV from his side, the mysteriousness could be shifted a bit less).

I like the author’s way of spinning the tale. This is the kind of who-dun-it I like as I played along guessing who the bad guy posing as good guy here. Heh.

Here’s to more Cooper/Oliver adventures afte

Gah… no one really communicates in this book. Flimsy worldbuilding too.
