What an interesting turn this series has taken. Despite the murder and mayhem of the first to books in this trilogy arc (the series has evolved to be continued with another three books), there was somewhat more of a “Bewitched” twinkle in them than in this third book, although some of that wit and humor (and a couple of delightful direct references) are still here. Lanyon has a gift for writing in a way that I worry for the safety and sanity of her protagonists, even though I know the tropes of ...more

John and Cosmo do have their issues but they are finally communicating and I love how their relationship is progressing. Loved this story.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third story in this series and ends this story arc very successfully. I was excited to learn there'll be three more planned, but also happy everything with these cases was wrapped up.
Cosmo was still carrying on his own investigation much to the chagrin of John, but I liked that their marriage was solid through this one even when they argued about his involvement.
