Listened to the audiobook version. Kale Williams is an excellent narrator and really added to the book. The story is fun and sweet and there is a paranormal angle. This book is really more of a set up for a series-long plot so there are lots of unanswered questions and a very hesitant happy for now, because Cosmo is hiding something major. It was elegant. But it was also slightly uneven, and rather incomplete.

From the blurb, I assumeed that the MCs were probably in relationship for years before getting marriage. Imagive my surprise to read that they were about to get married after just two weeks. While it was a point of concern initally, I didn't think much it. But upon some reflection and reading some other reviews, I have to agreed with them.

Getting married just after two weeks, as well as making it high-society wedding, should It was elegant. But it was also slightly uneven, and rather incomplete.

From the blurb, I assumeed that the MCs were probably in relationship for years before getting marriage. Imagive my surprise to read that they were about to get married after just two weeks. While it was a point of concern initally, I didn't think much it. But upon some reflection and reading some other reviews, I have to agreed with them.

Getting married just after two weeks, as well as making it high-society wedding, should be the red flag for Cosmo and his family. (view spoiler) Just like Drianne wrote, two weeks to buy a new house, install garden, move houses, arrange for a hundred guests for the wedding. When did John actually propose? The first night John pick Cosmo up at the ball?

I guess another point of contradiction was (view spoiler)

I felt that the love spell was core of this book. And it was handled rather poorly. From the most obvious issue of rushed wedding and all that entails, to the fallout after the fact. It all hinged on this *powerful love spell*. The one that lead to weddings and whatsnot. It should have been banned if it effect other people this much. There is also the question of why would it powerfully casted at all, if it was supposed to be somewhat harmless prank.

The other main crux of this book was interesting enough but the book felt incomplete due to various plot points were left hanging. But then this is supposed to be a trilogy. Even so, I felt it more than Ms. Lanyon's previous works... I wonder if this was release in serial format before this...

One of my favorite comedy shows is Bewitched. So I enjoyed this book and especially for giving me that Bewitched vibe.

This book also showed me that I really like some forms of paranormal. Magic! I like reading the possibilities in that world. So wow, another m/m genre to try.

Cosmo is so likable. He’s funny, sarcastic and smart. John is direct and no nonsense. I think he really loves Cosmo. They are cute together. I just know John is going to be like Daren from Bewitched though. And that’s gonn ...more

Opposites attract… a lot of trouble!
There cannot be two men more different than Cosmo Saville and Police Commissioner John Joseph Galbraith. After a somehow rocky start, they fall in love and plan a lovely wedding in only three weeks. Honestly I think liked this mainly because the beginning reminded me so closely of the AE series, just with magic. It's been a long time since I really enjoyed Lanyon, and, if I think about it other than AE, Snowball in Hell, and a Christmas story that I can't remember the title of, I'm not a fan overall.
