Mainly by Moonlight is a stellar start to a new Josh Lanyon series! I love the new, magical world Lanyon is showing us in this first book of the series. I love the fact that everything wasn't neatly spelled out, that we were left with several unsolved mysteries to look forward to. Overall, reading this book felt like peeling a big onion, layer by layer. Every single page brought out a new surprise, new problem, new exciting aspect, some tears even. At some point in the middle of the story I real

I'm really really disappointed with this book. Story felt rushed which I never expected from this author and most importantly it's an incomplete story. Murder was NOT really resolved & the secrecy between main couple remains. I'm feeling so frustrated with this book uhh

Very Enjoyable!
This was a nice departure. The story was fun, and intriguing. Love the Easter eggs and the modern day spin on magic. I am looking forward to the next one.

There's nothing better than starting a new series by Josh Lanyon. This author has created some of my most loved stories. Mainly by Moonlight does not disappoint. The main characters, John and Cosmo, are complex, multi layered individuals who capture the readers attention.
There is mystery, intrigue, magic and love to be found in this story. You will be kept on your toes throughout this book. I am eagerly waiting for the next installment. I see trouble ahead for John and Cosmo! ...more

I'm never sure what I will get with a Lanyon book. Unfortunately, the answer is often a protagonist who doesn't believe that they are competent and deserve love, and a series long romantic arc that eventually resolves that. If that's going to happen, I'd like the mystery to be more the central focus of the book, and probably I'd like it resolved. I'm not sure I feel like that happened in this book. I'll try the next one, but it took me a while to finish this one...

Meh. Wasn't inspired by the worldbuilding, such as it was.

I'm not sure what to think about this book. Sure I was partly hooked with Cosmo and John's fast romance, but couldn't really connect with the main storyline. I'm sure it'll hook me enough to continue on in this series.
