This third (and possibly final) book in the series ties up loose ends from the first book and sees both Elliott and Lance in danger. The mystery side of things is as expected well done and it's nice to see the 2 mc's in an established relationship that struggles with the outside pressures of job and family.

The book start off nicely with an interview with the old perp. Then we moved to almost police procedural making progress on the old plot line from the first book.
I liked that Elliot and Tucker talked things out in dialogues and conversations, instead of just fucking each other into understanding. It is pretty amazing how Ms. Lanyon managed to make Elliot day-to-day life interesting to read. Maybe it's the surrounding investigation but she managed to inject the sense of mundane normality despite ...more

The first book in this series was the very first Josh Lanyon book I read and I've been a devoted fan ever since. While the Adrien English is still my favorite, the All's Fair series is definitely a contender and very well done. Fair Chance does not disappoint - it contains the same masterful craftsmanship we've come to expect from this author - engaging story line and characters - lots to love!

Engaging and thrilling serial killer mystery. I don't think I was in the mood for a sometimes-gruesome serial killer mystery when I started this, so I put it aside quite a few times initially. It's somewhat dark, this story. Once it really got going, though, I got into it. It's tense, gripping, and kept me guessing. This is a really well done story and it's skillfully written. It's a great ending to an excellent and suspenseful series. The ending itself is intriguing.

This third book in the series has a great pace and is a good follow up to the last two books.
Mills and Tucker are an established couple, although they still have things to work out like Elliot's job and whether he should return to the FBI. Their immediate problem is the psychopathic murderer that Elliot is helping to put away known as the Sculptor.
Although the Sculptor is safe in jail awaiting trial, Elliot begins to think he may have had an accomplice and when Tucker goes missing, the race is ...more

I'm listened to the audio but am reviewing the ebook version because I need the page count for a challenge.
There was a lot going on in this story. There were some red herrings thrown out that made it more convoluted. But I wouldn't say it detracted from my enjoyment. More of like a head scratching thing. Like huh? What was the purpose of that? I do like that Tucker & Elliot have an equal relationship although I was bothered by how many times Elliot perceived Tucker was keeping things from him. 2.5 The only characters in this book who didn't make me want to throw my kindle across the room were Tucker and Sheba.
