This story is quite different from other EE's story I've read and to be honest I prefer her comedic story than this.
So why 2*?
David Fisher wasn't a likeable character it's on the verge of asshole.
He keeps comparing his time with his deceased wife when he's with Christie.
Duudee.... if you didnt enjoy having sex with your deceased wife it's not entirely her fault, it's you that not got balls big enough to be who you really are!
And there's time when he remember he traveled with his wife and daugh ...more

Christie Landon is a New York party boy that has hit the big 30. His view of life under goes drastic change, when his best friend over doses. Christie's aunt leaves him a house in the rural Pennsylvania. Maybe it's time for a change.

Loved this story and couldn't put it down. Engaging characters who hooked me in within the first few paragraphs. The setting is described really well and was easy to imagine. This is the first story I've read by this author but won't be the last.

A good, well written book which could have been great with a better last part: I didn't deem necessary the unexpected, dramatic (view spoiler) nor the jump between the last real chapter and the epilogue. I loved the slow romance (slow, except the fact that David went from (view spoiler) which was a bit unbelievable). The rural setting was also well done. Overall this was a very good story. I do think the climax/ending was a bit abrupt, though. Could have used at least another chapter between the last one and the epilogue. Still it was very well written and not nearly as angsty as I thought it would be.

I had a pleasure to enjoy A Second Harvest as audiobook. I'm glad it was released in this edition. Af for the book itself, it was good work by Eli Easton. Personally a bit boring from the plotted point. And then at the end with gay bashing, that part was terrible, mostly because we didn't get what happened after. Sure there are some information about it in the epilogue. But for me it was to undeveloped and weak. Ending was full of HEA, but again, how did that happiness happen, its a mystery.
