I just finished listening to this audiobook, and all I can say is, I'm glad I waited for the audio! The narrator did a fantastic job of distinguishing each character's voice, and this book will stick with me for a long time. I liked this one even more than the first in this series.

This is what I was left with: The honesty, and vulnerability as well as the reality of the awkwardness and feelings of betrayal, thinking omission protects, but in all actuality just puts a barrier of distrust between

Personal thoughts: This was a great follow up to Fair Game. In fact, I think I liked it even better. I loved how Elliot and Tucker's relationship develops and grows deeper. They had some very special scenes together that really cemented their relationship. The case was

I love how Josh Lanyon tells a story. I love how he creates a character. Elliot and Tucker's relationship blossoms in this novel as they navigate the changing dynamic of dealing with family, work, and crime solving as partners.

Elliot's father's house is burnt down. Someone doesn't want him to publish his memoirs. Elliot has to find out what happened in the past to figure out what is happening now, but no one really wants him to do that.

One of the things I enjoy when reading books by Josh Lanyon

I was goin to rate it 3* since I think the mystery was a bit weak, I meant I never heard one have been murdered for published their memoir, but the revelation of it was like a reminder that I easily relate, that...

*sigh* I really love Elliot & Tucker. Can't wait for book 3.

ETA March 21, 2017: For the re-read I listened to the audio version but am reviewing the ebook because I need the page count for a challenge.

I didn't feel like the storyline for this was as strong as Fair Game for the mystery portion. However, I really enjoyed seeing Tucker & Elliot's relationship progress.

I also enjoyed the narration better with switch to J.F. Harding.
