[close] The Testaments is the long awaited sequel to Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale.' With the buzz behind the Hulu TV adaptation, there was a lot of hype surrounding the belated release. In this instance, I think the book lived up to it.

Told from three points of view including two young girls (one growing up in free Canada and one inside Gilead) as well as returning character, Aunt Lydia, you'll find out what's happening on all sides and let me say, nothing is quite as it appears.

Atwood has done an incredible job recreating her worlds and the balance of new and old characters made me keep reading to find out how they intertwine. I think this book will definitely stand up with Handmaid's Tale as a great discussion book, dystopian novel, and comment on current affairs. Highly recommend.

I like to ask myself a question whenever reading a book, it’s a simple one: Why was this book written? For this one, I find myself almost certain that its not for the audience. The appeal of “handmaids tale” was that it told so little, and showed so much. The audience was left continually wondering, with only tidbits of information given, leaving you continually curious throughout.
