Fantastic Book that is so flawlessly written. It grips your mind and soul. It moved me in a way that is hard to describe. I would recommend this book to everyone. It was the Best Book I read this year.

This book was lost on me. I know many have enjoyed it and it has won awards, but those attributes were missed by me in this read. I understand this was a historical fiction taken from the actual events at the Dozier School for boys in Florida, but I felt very little was actually included.

The setting of the story at the Boys School was about all I could relate to what the atrocities may have actually been like. The storyline was confusing and jumped around to point of view of different boys with

The Nickel boys is an enjoyable, easy read, and thought provoking. Our group rated the book 5 stars both because of the writer's style and due to how well the author was able to make the historical context of the book feel relevant to modern issues with race in America. This book is suggested to any reader interested in the African American experience in America and would like more perspective on how that legacy affects modern citizens.
