I really love Colson Whitehead. I have had this book for 6 years now and know it is highly acclaimed book. I need to find time for this one.

I’m not sure I can write a review that will do justice to this book, but I’ll try. Easily the best thing I’ve read or listened to this year, The Underground Railroad tells the story of Cora, a slave, and her journey to freedom on the Underground Railroad. The style of writing and the liberty taken to make the railroad as an actual working train railway just didn’t grip me. It was okay book, but I prefer many other books I have read. I picked this one based upon the library choosing it for discussion which may also be why I didn’t enjoy it as much since it didn’t intrigue me from the description.
