Although I am no stranger to mysteries and psychological thrillers, Twisted Threads went far beyond most. It not only grabbed me intellectually -- because I love solving crimes -- but it also tugged at my emotions. McFarren's characters are well developed and multi-dimensional. McFarren’s Twisted Thread is a remarkable novel of intrigue and murder. The main character, Akira Sato, is bound by her duties to avenge the death of her clan leader’s sister in order to free herself from further commitment to this ruthless Japanese organization. However, her quest for revenge turns unexpectedly when she falls in love with her victims’ nephew. Love, honor, and survival all climax in this exciting page turner that will keep you on edge until the very last page. It is a must read.
What a fun, suspenseful book! Kaylin is an expert at blending genres, with fast-paced thriller writing combined with a sexy romance (and with a touch of family drama, as well!)

Tight writing. Keeps you hooked from the first chapter. McFarren knocked it out of the park.
