I've never read a novel about dogs and certainly none with a dog as main character, but after reading this one I know I've read the best one in its genre. The highly intellectual dog Enzo grabbed me from the first line and never ever let me go; not even after finishing the book.

Favorite quote..."That which you manifest is before you." And, I will never look a zebras quite the same(ha). Enzo's keen observations and comments make me wonder about Aza and her musings of her people.

I really liked this book, though sometimes I got annoyed at everything the author put the guy through. At times I thought "what else can happen to this guy?". But I loved the description from the dog's point of view. I was also surprised how interested the description of racing - something I know and care nothing about - could be.

This book has me laughing out loud, it's so funny. And short chapters make it feel like a quick read!

It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it is one of the few books that I've been compelled to read again, enjoying it at least the same amount, if not more with each time through.
