I would compare Jo-Anne Vandermeulen's style to perhaps Joy Fielding or Jodi Piccoult. An awesome fast-paced story. Once I picked it up I was totally enthralled with the characters, right to the very end. The scene descriptions were just right, with the appropriate amount of detail to put you there to feel the tension, without overwhelming you with minutiae.
