WOW...there is so much going on in this book and since it is the book leading to the big finish, it’s killing me not to jump straight into the next one...Kate has gone through so many trials in her short life and within the span of this series, but this installment seemed to batter at her. It isn’t enough she’s struggling to maintain a delicate truce with her nutjob father, she has to wrestle with her magic, plan a wedding, rescue an ally, and keep her loved ones alive. Listened to this book via audiobook (the narrator is just THE BEST!) and loved it all. The Kate Daniels world is full of monsters, magic and mystical creatures, but it's the relationships and interaction between the characters which is, and has always been, the real heart and strength to this series. The writing is brilliant and after so many books, the characters feel like old friends. I'll be sad when the series wraps up in the next book, but I'm intrigued to see how the story comes to a close
