I'm always thrilled to read a new Kate Daniels book (and just as amazing on a re-read). This one has Kate and Curran settling into their house and looking for a missing Werebison.
What I enjoyed:
* Loved the domestic scenes
* Interaction with Roland
* Kate and Curran and all their friends and family

This is one of my favorite series. The writing is witty, the story is completely engaging, and the characters are all super lovable.
Some random thoughts:
- I laugh out loud and make funny faces when reading these books, leading to many odd looks from others when I'm in public.
- This is one of the only series where explicit sex weirds me out.
- "Honey-bunny" is only used 3 times but it feels like much more. Maybe it's all of the "baby" endearments.

As Magic Shifts is the eight book in the Kate Daniels series, this review might contain spoilers for the earlier books. Some really big stuff went down in the seventh book in particular, so beware!
Times are changing for our favourite power-couple Kate and Curran. Having left pack life behind, they moved to a nice suburban neighbourhood. I'm not sure I can write an articulate review and not just fangirl squee over this book but I need a review for BSB so what do I love about it?
I love Kate & Curren's relationship. They always have each others backs and I love that they've agreed to let each other just be themselves. Of course, them being themselves now that they are settling into suburbia rather than The Keep makes for some awesome scenes. And not being involved in constant shapeshifter politics actually freed this book up a bit ...more
