Frustrating and needlessly wordy.
Most of the things I liked about Hedi in the first book were either in my imagination or changed in between the two books. She was passive and pretty useless for most of her story, as if she was simply the narrator of events instead of a participant and I kept waiting for her to finally step up and do something. I didn't like this book as much as the first one. The back and forth between the fae realm and the 'were' one was dizzying and Heidi being so wishy washy was driving me nuts! Mabee the third will be better, I'm not giving up on the series because I'm still curious to see what's going to happen but I'm finding myself skimming over parts that I could care less about. These books are an absolute rollercoaster of a ride. There is no let up on the things that Karma throws at Heidi.
But the clincher for the 5 stars was the interaction with her twin, Lexi, towards the end of the books. I just howled, tears dripping down my chin. Any book that can get that reaction deserves 5 stars.
Really looking forward to #3 due out in a couple of months. Keep up the good work Ms Evans.
