I liked this book, but I didn't love it. I think it suffers from the same problem that all the books after Carpe Corpus have to one degree or another; none of the dangers seem that dangerous anymore. It's possible that this series really does need strong multi book arcs to regain the intensity of the first six novels, especially since the Claire/Shane will they or won't they question has been resolved. Though I’m growing a little tired of this series, Bite Club has enough action and change to keep me reaching for the next one.
I’d noted in my review of Ghost Town that Caine needed to shake things up for Morganville to remain engaging. The last book brought certain storylines to a close; Bite Club does much the same. A new gym has opened up in Morganville and it's already creating a stir by offering classes teaching the human residents how to defend themselves against vampires. Claire, Michael and Eve are thrown by the new Shane, quickly realising that there must be more to it than meets the eye...and discovering a horror Morganville thought was gone forever.

I didn't like the way Shane acted. I don't care if Gloriana was Glamoring him or not. He definitely was channeling his father's hate and anger. Although he seems to be back to himself now, I don't know if Claire should ever fully trust him again. That being said, I don't care for Michael much anymore either. I think Eve and Claire need to find better guys for themselves. And no not Myrnin for Claire either. He will never fully be sane or nice.

Lots of action and angsty goings-on. I'm glad Shane knows about his dad now and its not a big secret.
