Opal Fire tells the story of Stacy Justice, an investigative reporter and reluctant witch. The book opens with a fire at Stacy's cousin's bar, the Black Opal. When her cousin is accused of arson she's determined to find out what really happened. The baddie wasn't obvious, which isn't always the case with paranormal mysteries.
Parts of the story made me think of Practical Magic. Stacy is a witch, but practices only because of her aunts.

Really enjoyed this. Very cute and I'm looking forward to the next book. There were a few errors - missing words, etc. which could have been or should have been caught by a proofreader, but, there weren't so many for me that it was annoying, just noticeable.

This was an incredibly funny book to read... the reviews are right that you should not drink while reading this book because all of a sudden you just burst out laughing... I highly recommend this book it is fun, witty and all tied up with great characters...I look forward to many more adventures with Stacy Justice.. Ohhh and I love Thor.. (what a great familiar)

This was very entertaining in a slap-dash, chick-lit sorta way.
Stacy Justice is a reporter in a small town with lots of quirky family and neighbours. She is dating Leo, the local Sheriff and is a reluctant witch.
The book opens with a massive fire at her cousin Cinnamon's bar. There is a mystery and Stacy is determined to get to the bottom of it. Regardless of how many bodies keep turning up.
