We are nearing the end. Deadlocked is the 12th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. In the 11th book, Dead Reckoning, I had already noticed that all of the character lost their lustre. In Deadlocked this downward spiral is continued.
Who even knows what this book is about? The main plot is distracted from so often that it can barely called a conflict. Most page time is dedicated to reconnect with characters from past books. It's like watching a puppet show, where every five minutes a new puppet ...more

My initial ratings was going to be a 4 but then I started to think about it and decided that the only reason I was going to give it 4 stars because it was better than the previous 2 books (not by much).
The plot was all over the place but there was a plot and everything was tied up in nice little bow at the end of the book. Well, one thing is still up in the air, Eric. We still have no resolution with Sookie and Eric relationship. Supposedly, they are in love but it just felt like they were an o ...more

I have to say that I liked this one better than the last. There seemed to be less WTFery going on. Sookie is still an annoying, self-righteous hypocrite and I really don't get why every main male character in this world is hopelessly, forever in love with her. But at least there was no weird pseudo incest thing with the fae and, thank any power that you care to in the universe, there was no weird ice pack sex. Yes, a lot of the book is Sookie meandering around not doing much, but honestly I'd ra

Vampire trouble. Werewolf problems. Fairy plotting. Relationship woes. A murder. It must be May, because we only get that mix when it’s time for a new Sookie Stackhouse book.
And, yes, the waitress from Bon Temps is caught in the thick of it again.
The main plot in Deadlocked focused on someone making trouble for Eric and Sookie — not in a romantic way. The vampire King of Nevada comes to chat with them about Victor’s death (the epic part of D ...more

Sookie's in trouble again. A young girl who was found on Eric's property ha been killed. Eric was drinking her blood earlier in the evening. He or Sookie or Bill are suspects. Raphael the King of Louisianna is in town to find out what happened to Victor. Sookie finds a cluviel dor that was given to her from fairy that fathered her children. Everyone seems to be trying to separate Sookie and Eric. Her fae family included. Good addition to the series.

I read it. Not really going to spend much time with a review. The book lacked excitement. I like some realism in my books and it's nice that Sookie got a couple days without being beat up, but it isn't necessary to go through your mundane day minute by minute.

This is so boring and disappointing so far. I've barely been reading because I just can't get into it. Ugh. I'm ready for this series to end.
