Final thoughts:
While much of the book felt like a recap, I needed it. I read book #11 in 2011, so some of what others did not like was quite helpful to me. Especially since the characters on the show, True Blood, vary so much from those in the books. I'm going to start Dead Ever After straight away and say farewell to Sookie and the Bon Temps clan.

Thoughts on the cover: Where's Sook's other leg? LOL!

I might have to live vicariously through others on this one because my library hasn't ordered a copy and I'm not prepared to pay the extortionate prices they're asking for what I expect to be mediocre at best. ...more

I'm very disappointed by Sookie's attitude in this book. Although I was much more pleased with the plot than I was in the last three books. ...more

I am a huge fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books, and even after this abysmal excuse for a book, I will keep on reading until the series is through. It probably deserves one star, but since I am a fan, it gets two.
This book was a waste of trees. I could probably count on one hand how many times Eric was mentioned. Most of the book was about the fairies, but even that plot was left unfinished. Zero plot progression but a lot of bitching and moaning from Sookie. Zero sex, no romance, very little a

In this installment Felipe has come to town after the death of Victor, and if that wasn't enough Eric is acting shady (at this point that's nothing new), but so is his daytime man Mustafa.

The night of a "party" Sookie is asked to come later than agreed and find Eric taking blood from a woman in the room that she considers hers when she stays over, then the next thing they know the woman is found dead on Eric's lawn.

That incident leads to more secrets being revealed and Sookie

This book really dragged on at the beginning, because it was pretty much just Sookie doing her daily life stuff and I really didn't care to hear about her peeling sweet potatoes for a casserole or if she shaved her legs.

The romance was also lacking Sookie was living like a nun.

Of course there was a major mystery that she had to solve and blah blah blah. To sum it up I was just bored. I think the only thing that made me give this book 3 stars was the last chapter and oddly enough I find myself lo

This book improved a lot, after I went back and read the books I had skipped, thinking I had read them. Reading books 8-11 really helped since I was completely lost!

I liked this one better than some.
