The Flooze
Emotionless.

That's the best one-word summary I can give for Deadlocked.

Not that Sookie is numb. Not that joyous and sad events don't occur. But none of them touched me in the slightest, so: who cares?

I remember when these books were exciting. When I'd get completely caught up in Sookie's romantic entanglements and hope for more of the Gracious Plenty. When my connection with her was strong enough that I sympathized over every sadness, celebrated each success. I remember anxiously awaiting the ne

Blah. This series is dying a slow, painful death. Nothing happens for the first half of the book and when it finally does I just don't care. I couldn't be more happy when I finished this book. ...more

The past few Sookie books have not been my favorites in the series, but I liked Deadlocked much better. Sookie seemed to make her own decisions more in this book and to really focus on herself.

The Sookie and Eric romance took a big hit in this book. They weren't together much and it seems like every time they were, some kind of misunderstanding happened. The series has lost most of its magic for me, unfortunately. This book was fun enough to read, but nothing really exciting. Sookie's never been one of my favorite heroines and she's losing more points as we go.

A lot of the characters I once liked have now lost their shine and there are certain parts of the story that aren't exactly a surprise. I can pretty much guess who's Sookie going to end up with (it's been heading that way for a long while now) and I can't say if I'm for or against it - I d

I think I'm as tired as Sookie seems to be in these books now. I know I just read a story, but I'm at a loss of words as to how to describe it as one. Just going through the motions here until we reach the last one.

Oh come on.. I'm giving this 2 stars right now. I'm on page 93 and it is slow slow going.. And some of the worst dialog ever. This series was so refreshing when it first started... But the last 3 books, there has been a decided downhill slope to it. Her characters are turning vapid, and I have to say... It's beginning to hurt.. Having to read what Sookie has to say.

Plus NOT EVERY CHARACTER NEEDS A UNIQUE NAME! This is Lousiana.. Not Hollywood.

Great series for the most part. Sookie is generally fun to read, though she does do things sometimes that make you want to shake her a little bit.

Best one in the series I've read in a while. Loved the ending! I can't wait for the next one even though it will be the last.

Oh how I loved this book! I literally laughed and cried while reading it. One of the best in the series.
