2.5 stars. I got this book in a RT giveaway, and I truly wanted to love it, as I love paying forward free books with rave reviews. Sadly, I just couldn't love this one. If you, however, love Erin McCarthy, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Katie McCallister, or Mary Janice Davidson, this could well be a 4 or 5 star read for you, and it is certainly a series worth adding to your TBR pile if light and funny paranormal is your favorite genre. I don't like books that take 300 pages to get somewhat interesting.
I didn't connect with anything about this other than wondering what is going to happen to the rest of the characters in books 2 and 3. I already bought the 2nd and 3rd books, so I suppose I should read them. This is what I get for shopping on impulse just because it was a buy 3 get one free sale.

LOL funny, clever, witty...a fun read! If you think that a bad-a$$ warrior being condemned to torture and cross-stitch at the Den of Womanly Pursuits is funny, then you'll love the humor in this book. But the book can also punch you in the gut in the dark moment for the H/h--the sign of a well-written book IMO. Enjoy!
