DRIVING MR DEAD is a very fast read. It's light paranormal romance with a touch of humor, so if you're in the mood for a little distraction from the doom and gloom you might be reading then this is the book for you.

After the second book I had to quit reading the series because I realized that I did not like Jane, which is important being that you're in her head, and I wasn't a huge fan of Ms. Harper's humor. Or so I thought.

DRIVING MR DEAD was a much better read for me, even though I didn't find it as LOL funny as other readers did, I did find it entertaining and that was a good thing because now I know my problem is just mainly with Jane. Apparently, Miranda Puckett had made a cameo appearance in that series as a vampire driver. So now she gets her book.

She's assigned to drive a vampire almost across country, with an important delivery. Said vampire, the sexy Collin Sutherland, has a list a mile long of all the conditions and stipulations of what she's allowed to do and not to do while she's driving him. Anal much?

Destruction and mayhem follows them along the way while they try to get to their destination on time and in one piece. And also along the way things start to develop between the two of them. The romance is a good part of the story, considering that it's a short book.

Even though I found the characters to be a bit cookie-cutter paranormal romance they were still likeable, if not memorable. The storyline also had enough action and disaster to keep things interesting. And then of course, it was sexy.

I have to mention that I loved the cameo by Dick Cheney (snickers), probably my favorite character in the Jane Jameson series, when he comes to save the day.

If you enjoy Molly Harper, you will definitely enjoy this book and series. If you've never tried her, then I think this would be a great place to start. ...more

I am surprised by how much I like this book. I have tried to read Molly Harper before and really couldn't get into it.

This book is a funny opposite attract book with a uptight vampire and a h who is a bit of a mess. I really like that everyone knows about vampires. I prefer books where the supernatural is known. The steam level is fairly low with one really good sex scene. I would give this a 3.5 if I could. I hope the rest of the series is as fun.

Miranda has had a lot of jobs. Then, something happens and the job is no more. Iris (from The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires) hires her to be a vampire chauffeur. Her first job is driving to Washington and picking up Collin Sutherland and taking him to Half Moon Hollow.
I laughed out loud so many times, I needed this! We get a brief appearance from Iris and Dick Cheney. I liked Miranda's growth and appreciated Collin's declaration of "like." Excellent and enjoyable. ...more
