3.5 stars. Solid shifter romance by a very prolific author. Great beginning to the story. I'm afraid of heights too and the scene where Diego has to climb around that tall building had me biting my nails. There were a couple of subplots competing with the main story of Cassidy and Diego but I don't mind because I've followed the series from the beginning and I'm interested in everything that goes on in this world. The romance is OK. Nothing earth shattering but still entertaining. Will definitel ...more

This series is growing on me. I wasn't sure after the first book but I've liked the others much better. It is a different take on the shifters to have them more or less powerless against human laws. I especially liked that this was a human male/shifter female pairing. So often in PNR it's nearly always the other way. more a 4 1/2 stars. At first I was disapointed that the Morrisseys were not in this book, but quickly forgot all about that. Diego is a great character, and Eric's town was just as good as Liam's from the first two books. Lots of action in this book, more then the first two books. Plenty or romance, sex, humor. This book is about the human cop Diego and Eric's sister (feline shifter) Cassidy. It ties in with the first two books (more with the 2nd book), and a few of the shifters from the Morrise ...more

I really enjoyed this book. Whether she's writing under this name or Allyson James, I can always count on Jennifer Ashley for a captivating read. Cassidy and Diego, each grieving for lost loved ones, are both strong characters and I loved their interaction with each other. And while I missed the Morrisseys, absent except for a minor cameo from one, it was great to learn more about Eric Warden (Cassidy's brother), his family and the Las Vegas Shiftertown. I'll definitely be reading the next book ...more
