2 stars, barely.

What the hell happened? This isn't what I've come to expect from this author at all. Excruciatingly slow and boring at times, just begging me to DNF. I was ready for the book to end halfway through.

I didn't buy the romance. The writing concerning Diego was stilted. I couldn't care less about him. Eric and Iona's chocolate scene held more passion and intrigue than Diego and Cassidy's. Reid and Peigi's as well as Xavier and Lyndsay's pairing also drew more interest from me than th

The story of the first human male and shifter female couple in the series, this time set in a different Shiftertown than the books preceding it.

RT Book Reviews 4*

Diego is a Las Vegas cop. Cassidy is a shifter from a Shiftertown outside of Las Vegas. They meet when Cassidy is being hunted down at a construction site. Someone wants to kill Cassidy for her blood. At the same time, Diego is out for vengeance for his partner who was killed by drug runners.

Even though the different story lines somewhat came together in the end, I thought they made the book a bit disjointed. That's why the book only got 4*s. And even that was stretching it.
