This was moving along about to be my favorite of this series when something toward the end blew it. The book itself recovered and I did enjoy it but still think I liked the first one the best. It's a little overly long (like most recent Ward books) but it still was quick, entertaining reading. I really liked Veck but Ward generally does good heroes so that isn't surprising.
