This was such a great book, this entire trilogy in fact, I'm a fan of Laini Taylor, and by now i could read anything she writes. The next book cannot come soon enough!

It's been a long time since I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone so I had a bit of trouble remembering what had happened and where that left off, but once that was back in my mind I really started to enjoy this sequel. It's very much about war rather than romance, and while Akiva and Karou are apart, there's still a spark which just cannot go out. Laini Taylor has a magnificent way with words, and that twist near the end I totally did not see coming. Some of my favourite parts featured Zuzana and M
