It has been awhile since I started this series and I was afraid that I would be lost. I actually remembered the first book as I was listening to this one. I enjoyed the banter between the characters. I was surprised by the ending.
I did get confused with some of the characters and who was talking at times. I was still able to figure out who was talking. I will be reading or listening to the 3rd book in this series.

Well, thank goodness I have book 3 on-hand; benefits of getting to this series late. I'm really enjoying these audiobooks. The narration is done so well. And, the author's writing paints such a vivid picture.

This book holds up well to the first in the series. This story tells more of the history of why the Angels and chimaera are fighting and we get glimpses of how life is for some of the different groups of people such as the silversword guards and the harem/concubines. At first I wasn't sure why these pov's were being told but now after finishing the book I realize how genius this is as it gives the us, the reader, a different perspective on how to view the various main characters within the story
