JSR does a wonderful job of creating characters that are complex and realistic. It's easy to believe they have a life off the page and don't just exist for the scenes they are written into. She's gifted the vampires of WVMP radio with complete personalities and quirks all their own.

What I loved about the first book was how steeped in music it was. There was so much about the culture of radio and music and the role that it plays in both culture and life. This book didn't have as much of that and that's why I didn't like it as much. I still love the main characters and watching them develop their relationship. But it looks like the series is turning more away from the DJs and the radio station more toward The Control and vampire police type stuff. I hope I'm wrong and the DJ
