Paul Jones kidnaps Jeanne Louise in an act of desperation, believing she is the answer to all his prayers. When Jeanne Louise faces the reason behind this desperate act she chooses to aid him rather than escape and call in the enforcers to handle the situation. They soon find themselves on the run from those looking to save Jeanne Louise and they get themselves in a pickle. Can they convince the enforcers incluing Uncle Lucian to overlook the broken laws and help them instead?

I had been getting a bit tired of the Argeneau series as every book seemed to be the same as the last but I really enjoyed this one and would call it the best one of the entire series. I am a sucker for kids in books so reading about little Livy's cancer just about broke my heart.
The characters were really good and I really liked them all.
I hope the next one in the Argeneau series is as good as this one!

As with all the Argeneau stories, I enjoyed this one. Lucien is one of my favorite characters. I was slightly surprised I liked this one because Jeanne Louise never seemed like a full character to me. I enjoyed that most of her family was 'in pursuit' of her. It was great to see them all. ...more
