I love Kresley's IAD series so when I saw she had a new YA I was curious enough to give it a try. With YA books I need to be in the mood for them and that doesn't happen often. This book was nothing like I expected and that turned out not to be a bad thing.

Evie is a popular girl, on the outside she is a cheerleader, owns a designer wardrobe most teens would kill for and has the perfect jock boyfriend. However on the inside she is hiding a secret, she has been plagued with visions and hearing v I love Kresley's IAD series so when I saw she had a new YA I was curious enough to give it a try. With YA books I need to be in the mood for them and that doesn't happen often. This book was nothing like I expected and that turned out not to be a bad thing.

However on the inside she is hiding a secret, she has been plagued with visions and hearing voices and her memory has huge gaps in it. while Evie's friends believe she has spent her summer at a special school she was actually in an asylum under medication and receving treatment for her delusions. On her return to school she finds things have changed and not just because of the new kids. Life is soon disrupted with The Flash and the world is drastically changed in an instant. The world that emerges is dark ad it's not only survival of the fittest but Evie's nightmares seem to have a place in this new reality.

Jack is a boy from the wrong side of the tracks, when he first appeared at Evie's school she didn't know what to think. His presence unerves and soothes her at the same time this frustrates her a lot. When he turns up at herhouse following The Flash and helps her she questions everything, Jack has always been perceptive when it comes to Evie but can he get her open up about her secrets, should she trust him? New characters join along the way and everyone has secrets and hidden agenda's, just what part will they play in the upcoming fight against good and evil?

Poison Princess has a slow building yet intense plot, it s a post-apocalyptic book and the world Kresley has created following The Flash is darker than I expected, she has taken the Tarot Deck and developed a character for each of the cards. The Major Arcana cards and the kids who represent them will fight in a war against each other as they reenact the ultimate fight between good and evil. Who will be victorious?
