The book is good. I liked it. The heroine either makes or breaks a book for me and this time Kira was okay not great but okay.

I liked that she was not freaked out about the whole werewolf thing and that she had a lot of compassion for the other paranormals. What made me not love her was 3 reasons.
1. When the fight between Jax and Aric broke out she did nothing to stop it just looked on.
2. When Jax and Sariel got into it at the dining room again Kira did nothing, just stood back to see the firewo

Though i have to agree with many of the previous reviews about there being a lot going on in this book, i personally Ms. Tyler constructed it very well. All first series books have a lot they throw at a person during world building (Cheyenne McCray's Magic Series is a great example), but if it is done well there are no issues for me.

I'd really like to give this 1.5 stars, but I guess I'm feeling generous. Mostly, because it wasn't an awful book, it was just predictable and not very exciting. Everything in this book has been done before. Nothing was new and it was all done better by other authors. It took me forever to finish because the characters weren't compelling at all and neither was the plot. I read one or two other books while reading this one. But I felt like I should finish it, so I plowed through. Of course, that ...more

This one is about Jax & Kira. Moves along, good characters, with some unique story but also some same old same old story. As the story moves along, more twists or little tid bits are thrown out to make you wonder what's coming around the corner next. Likable group of characters. About 200 pages in the lead female's name is spelled Kyra. A bit glaring of a mistake since she's the main focus this book, but otherwise a pretty clean book. ...more
