Not quite what I expected. I loved Phineas the pervy unicorn -he was a hoot. I was intrigued by the idea of TouchStones -humans used as anchors in this world for those of the Light and Dark Paths, and humans trapped in paintings but I found the book's mythology confusing what with all the doorways and crossroads, etc. There wasn't much in the way of explanation. And there were moments when I was tempted to put it down but I knew if I did I'd never pick it back up again. It lacked a certain somet ...more

It took me reading the first 50 pages twice before I got things kinda figured out. It was more likely because I was trying to read it somewhere I was getting distracted than the book, but I was lost at times because there were things that I felt like it was left to the reader to try and figure out with out the writer giving you any idea what had happened to Abby and how she ended up where she did.

Hard one to place for me......one sitting I was really into it and another it took some effort not to put it down. It took me awhile to read, but at the same time I'm definitely going to read the next one. It's a perfect filler for if you're in between series and want something to fill a week's wait without starting something that'll make you want to dive into a whole other series at once. ...more
