I'm hooked on this series. Cat is a great protagonist, kicks some serious undead butt and has a snarky, fun sense of humor and major parental issues to make things interesting , curses like a longshoreman and drinks gin like it was water. Her vampire beau Bones is....well, Bones is MINE! Hands off. I also like her new FBI colleagues. A nice bunch of tough, likeable characters with great banter among them like a good ensemble TV show.

I saw this on the shelf in my library, and the author's name caught my eye and I was like, oh those books. I'd heard of this series before but had dismissed them as eh, not my thing. I skimmed the back cover description and went eh (again) and didn't think much of it. But because it had paranormal romance on the spine, I decided to give it a spin and boy am I ever glad I did! I wasn't even 200 pages into it, and I said to myself, this is going to be a favorite, and I was not disappointed by the

3.5 stars - I liked this book more than the first of the series. I thought the characters were developed a little bit more this time around. I enjoyed the new characters introduced in the form of Cat's troops as well. While it is still a bit Buffy/Spike fanfic at times, this book was enough to convince to stick with this series and see how the characters continue to develop.

This book is a continuation of Cat's life where the first book stopped almost 4 years later. She is still using all of what Bones taught her to kill vampires but now she gets paid for it. She still has daddy issues and longs for the time she can meet him and stake him.

Better than book 1, definitely. I loved the team and all the supporting characters, I loved Bones' fights with Cat's mother, I loved the ending, it made me all teary-eyed. Yet, I would've done without the chapter-long sex - I know this is adult urban fantasy, but that was a bit too much and in my opinion, it stalled the plot - and the showdown between Cat and Ian was way too convoluted, the way they tried to one-up each other. Still, the book read amazingly well, it was fast-paced and I just rea

I don't know why I waited so long to continue reading this series. I loved the first book and had intended to read the others right away. This book did not disappoint and I enjoyed the reader very much even though Bones doesn't sound quite right to me.
